On the premises, you will find the highly sought after management of Champ Marketing, Johan Pieters and Christo van der Vyver. With this dynamic duo’s 22 years of experience in events and marketing, you can rest assured that any function will exceed your expectations.
When you choose The Pine Junction Wedding and Conference Village as your wedding destination, you literally hand all your wedding stress over to this experienced team. “Our operational director Bennie Lubbe and his team take care of all your needs, before and during the wedding. We have phenomenal resident décor experts in a husband and wife team, Danie and Christelle Scholtz, who bring with them more than a decade’s worth of experience to make sure every detail of your décor needs are met.”
The Scholtz décor team has a show room on the property where you can choose from the hundreds of décor options available to make sure your function is a true reflection of your personality and with their keen eye for detail, they can turn any function into a fairy-tale event.
“Our venue is one of the largest venues in Newcastle, with a hall that can accommodate up to 500 people, a chapel and a smaller hall that can accommodate 120 people. We have a remarkable chef on site. Chef Solly Masopoga is a seasoned professional. He comes with almost 20 years experience working at various lodges, restaurants and game reserves in the country. He can cook up a storm in our fully fitted kitchen,” says an excited Christo.
“I have worked at major names in the hospitality industry and living up to their high standards is nothing new to me. I’m thrilled to share my love for good food and cooking with the people of Northern KZN.” Chef Solly is renowned for some of his mouth-watering dishes. He will definitely have to keep standards high with The Pines’ Three star rating. Star quality. Getting a three star rating from the Tourism Grading Council is an assurance to you, the customer, that you can expect the very best. “Grading an institution involves inspection on various levels, including exterior buildings, gardens, parking, quality, furnishings, general facilities, attitude of staff, hygiene and much more. Once the establishment is graded, it remains an ongoing partnership. Annual inspections are done to ensure that the establishment remains up to standards,” Steve Scott explains. He is a Star Grade Assessor with the Tourism Grading Council.
It’s all about The Pines “We are pulling out all the stops to make sure our clients get what they pay for,” adds operations director Bennie.
In addition to their passion for weddings, planning, co-ordinating and overseeing that special day, they also offer their facilities as a conference venue. “Because we are slightly out of Newcastle, we have a serene outdoor feel here at The Pines. We have hundreds of beautiful, old pine trees surrounding the venue.
This adds to the beauty of this unique venue.” Johan also adds that they have a cosy and inviting pub on the premises which is perfect for pub lunches and just watching the game with a group of friends. “Our beloved bartenders Letrisha Stols and Marita Lombard are ready and waiting with a warm smile and a cold beverage.”
This year will be a busy time for The Pines, as they are working on various projects to add value to their venue. “Our plans include a mini golf course, getting our accommodation up and running and making the venue available to all the service providers involved in functions.
Our immediate goal is to transform The Pines into a super wedding destination where all the relevant service providers are at your beck and call.
Our guests do not need to ‘shop around;’ everything they could possibly need will be available at the venue. This will be a reality by the end of this year. While we are working towards that, we do offer our clients everything they might need – from the wedding invitations to the final dessert on the evening of the event, we’ve got you covered. Our goal is simply to get all these service providers under one roof so to speak.” Christo adds that children’s parties are a favourite at their venue. Here, parents bring their children, friends and families where they can relax in a comfortable shady retreat and watch the children enjoy themselves in the play area. There are braai facilities and even a spit braai facility available. Alternatively, catering can be done by Chef Solly and his kitchen assistant Thuli Majola, which is guaranteed to be a mouth-watering feast.
